Enhancement in the fees structure of various programmes in NITs from 2014-2015

CIRCULAR Subject: Eligibility of Four-Year B.Sc. (Honours/Honours with Research) Graduates for admission to M. E./M.Tech. Cou rse in A ICTE-approved I nstitutions/Universities - reg. In accordance with the proui.ion, of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 andthe UCC Regulations,2025, notilled on 26 March 2025, and with a view to pronroting acadenric mobility and interdisciplinary education, the matter regarding the eligibility o1'students completing a lrour-Year B.Sc. (Honours/l'lonours with Research) programme fbr adnrission to postgraduate courses in E,ngineering and'fechnology Programme was considered by the Council. Accordingly, the lollowing provisions shall apply: l. Four-Year B.Sc. (Honours/Honours with Research) graduates may be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech. Courses in AICTE approved Institutions/Universities only in relevant and closely aligned disciplines/specialisations where M.Sc. graduates are already eligible fbr admission. 2, Admission shall be sub.iect to the discipline/course-wise eligibility criteria prescribed by AICTE.'fhe candidate shall possess the requisite academic background, including the prescribed prerequisite subjects and/or credits, for the concerned M. E./M.Tech. Courses. 3. 'fhe adrnitting Institution/University may prescribe appropriate eligibility requirements relating to minimum percentage of marks/CcPA, entrance examination, GATE or any other applicable admission criteria, domairl knowledge assessment, and/or prerequisite/bridge courses, in accordance with the applicable AICTE norms. 4. Institutions/Universities shall ensure that the academic standards and quality of postgraduate Engineering and 'l'echnology programme are maintained and are not diluted. This provision shall supplement and shall not replace thc cxisting B.Ll./B.l'ech. pathway for adnrission to M.E./M.Tech. Courses. 5. Admissions shall be macle within the approved inlake of the concerned M.E./M.Tech. course and in accordance witlr the applicable AICTE regulations. Central / State reservation policy, and other statutory requirements notified frorrr linre to tirre. 6. -l'he detailed discipline/course-wise eligibility mapping of Four-Year [].Sc. (Honours/Honours with Research) Programme / courses with the corresponding M.8,./M.Tech. courses shall be notified separately by the AIC'IE. The detailed eligibility list shall be made available on the official AIC'tE website for infbrmation and implenrentation by all concerned.
